German Eastafrica

 

German Eastafrica (Deutsch-Ostafrika) was the name of a german colony, containing the territories of the actual states of Tanzania (without Sansibar), Burundi, Rwanda and a part of Mozambique. The colony exist between 1885 and 1918; the area was more than twice as large as the German Empire (995.000 km² - appr. 7,75 Million inhabitants).

since 1904: 100 Heller = 1 Rupie
