The territory of the Supreme Commander East included the occupied parts of the Russian Empire from the german forces, especially Courland, Livonia and Lithuania. The iron coins were issued by the "Loan Office East", a foundation of the Bank for Trading and Industry, seated in Kauen (Kowno, Kaunas).
